Anaero Technology is built on decades of practical experience in wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion (AD). That background helps us understand both the questions researchers ask and the operational challenges faced by industrial plants.
Our technical foundations span sludge treatment, process optimisation, biosolids use and standards development, including PAS110. We draw on this experience to make laboratory research relevant to industrial practice.
Built to bring research into practice
Anaero Technology was founded in 2013, the year we released our first BMP model and were granted our first patent.
We believe good research should lead to practical improvements. Our purpose is to help researchers and plant operators obtain reliable data and turn scientific findings into economic and environmental benefits.

Where our equipment works
Our instruments help laboratories study the same feedstocks used in full-scale anaerobic digestion plants. We focus on reliable measurement and robust equipment that supports research into biogas production and process performance.
Today, our equipment serves laboratories in 32+ countries. With three patents granted and more than 13 years of experience in automatic feeding, we continue to develop lab-scale systems that more closely reflect how industrial plants operate.
Working with the research community
We work with academic and industrial partners in the UK, EU and beyond to improve access to anaerobic digestion research and advance research standards. These relationships connect laboratory science with practical experience across the industry.
Our collaborators include University of Cambridge, Cranfield University, King's College London, UCL and NRM Labs.
We sponsor PhD and master's research as part of our commitment to supporting the research community and strengthening the connection between academia and industry.
